You can either record as a group activity for fun, or record separately if you don't live close to each other.

IDEALLY
- Find a suitable room that doesn't have a lot of echo
- Remove items from the room that make a noise e.g. ticking clocks
- Avoid external noises where possible e.g. barking dogs or noisy lawnmowers
- Try to have the recording device quite close to you when speaking. Held to your ear is fine if not talking too loudly. You can listen back to check it sound ok. Ideally you don't want to move it around when talking or it will pick up any movement against your hair or face.
- Best not to hold the recording device when speaking as it’s more likely to pick up additional noise from your movements
- Have the scripts printed or using hand held devices to read the scripts
- If using paper scripts keep them still so the pages do not rustle
- Be quiet when others are saying their lines (if you giggle or cough whilst someone is talking it well may be impossible to remove it afterwards)
- Decide who is to be each character and think about the sort of voice you could use for them
- Everyone must stay very silent whilst anyone is speaking their lines, no coughing or fidgeting as the microphone will pick it up
- Speak clearly with lots of expression
- Have fun reading the script, adding in anything to personalise your story
- One person could be in charge of the recording device, they could give a thumbs up when it is recording
- Record each line separately. If you want to have a little rehearsal first and record that, you can include it for some fun ‘out-takes’!
